Compassion is a vital skill for those working in health care or home care. Clients may be in vulnerable positions, facing pain or dealing with illnesses, and they may not be thrilled with having to depend on someone else. As a client, it’s essential that you feel that you are being treated with compassion and receiving the best possible care.
Why Choose Trinity Support Group Services
Compassion: One of Our Core Values
During training, staff learn to make providing compassionate care one of their core values and priorities when working with clients. Caregivers use meditation, calming techniques, and visualization exercises to help them as they work on practicing compassion while working with clients in the future.
Personal Interest
Caregivers continue to provide compassionate care by getting to know our clients on a personal level. They may ask you questions occasionally to get to know you a little better and provide you with more personal care. We’ll listen when you share with us and try to make you feel at ease in our care.
We Take Time to Learn About Your Situation
We understand that not every patient will know medical terminology and treatments. Caregivers will do their best to explain medical processes in layperson terms for better understanding. If a patient appears upset or irritated, caregivers will try to understand what could affect them to help them best address their feelings.
Acknowledgement of Feelings
Caregivers will take time to listen to you and express empathy with whatever you may be dealing with. We use phrases like “I understand,” “I know how you feel,” and “I understand how you may be feeling” to express our support for you as a patient and to make you feel comforted and understood.
